Why Attend This Convention?
Fairs, festivals, special events and celebrations touch everyone.
The contribution these events make in preserving local culture,
enhancing the quality of life, strengthening community spirit,
impacting the local economy and promoting social causes are of
benefit to all. To manage these special events successfully, you
need a well-rounded knowledge of sponsorship, marketing, volunteers
and making your event "green" - some of this year's topics.
In these power-packed two days, the 10th Annual Illinois Special
Events Network State Convention will provide you with the opportunity
to learn more about the production of special events, network with
other participants, exchange information and discuss your event's
needs with vendors.
Who Should Attend?
This convention is designed for those responsible for the planning,
management, operation and support of special events including, but
not limited to, professional/volunteer event managers, governing
board members and members of organizations that support the industry.
Educational Credits
The Illinois Parks & Recreation Association will award up to .8
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to park district participants
for this convention.
We will be offering CFEE elective courses at this year's convention.
Illinois will be one of the few locations where CFEE elective sessions
will be offered besides the annual IFEA Convention. Take advantage of
this opportunity to fulfill some of your CFEE requirements. In order
to get CFEE credit for attending the CFEE elective sessions, you must
be pre-enrolled through IFEA in the CFEE program. The fee to enroll
is $200. You can visit www.ifea.com and click on "CFEE Certification"
to find out more information on the CFEE program and to obtain the
registration form. The CFEE elective sessions will be offered to all
attendees at no additional charge. The CFEE Program is brought to you
by IFEA and K&K Insurance.
Brochure Evaluation
Festivals can submit a brochure to be critiqued by graphic arts
professors from Columbia College Chicago. Simply fill in the box
marked "Yes, my festival will submit a brochure to be critiqued" on
the registration form. You will receive a submission form after your
registration is received. There will be no additional cost for this
service. Brochures will be due by January 2, 2008. Please do not send
your festival brochure until you receive a submission form. All festivals
submitting a brochure will have a chance to discuss the evaluation
during the Vendor Expo.
Job/Internship Opportunities
We will be providing a place for companies to post job/intern opportunities
and for individuals to post resumes. Please bring any relevant information
for the Job/Intern Opportunities Display Board.
Brochure Tables
There will be tables available throughout the workshop and convention for
attendees to display their promotional brochures and flyers.
